My Party Edit {December} with Boden Clothing

December 22, 2018

Tis’ the season for all things that sparkle…i’m a BIG fan! Who doesn’t enjoy dressing up in something they love for Christmas parties, drinks with friends and New Year celebrations?

This edit is dedicated to all things accessory and lets be honest, we all have that LBD that we pull out of the wardrobe year after year; but are looking to revamp it with eye-catching new accessories.

So onto my TOP PICKS for this festive season….

The Ottilie Clutch

I was pretty blown away by the utter luxury this clutch bag provides. It’s compact enough to carry all night but roomy to house all of your essentials; in my case, lippy, pressed powder, a miniature perfume, phone and money. Even room for a sprig of mistletoe! The tassle on the zip adds to the fun detail and as always, the lining is to die for! LOVE.

Cordelia Heels

Isn’t it always the battle of style v’s comfort for an evening shoe? Maybe it’s my age, I’m not sure. For me, its essential to look stylish but I need a style that’s super comfortable {dancing the night away is a BIG priority!} I can confirm, these heels are amazingly comfortable. No need to break them in…rejoice! A solid evening of cocktail drinking and painting the dance floor red confirms these really are the prettiest AND comfiest party shoes maybe EVER?

Made from a luxurious suede with tee bar, complete with embellished grosgrain bow and a dainty round buckle makes these shoes up there in the serious style stakes. The heel is mid-height; which is great for all of your party movements, whether that be circling the room and socialising or dancing the night away.

Daria Bracelet

My final ‘must have’ piece is this beauty. This elegant grosgrain bracelet is a perfect match to the Cordelia heels, whichever colour you choose. Finished with suede discs and jewelled detailing it was made for festive events. Complete with lobster clasp which is fully adjustable; this timeless and classical piece will most certainly make it to my most favourite party pieces year after year.

By the time you read this edit Christmas will be fast approaching and we will all be gearing up for a time of over-indulgence, fun festivities, special time with our nearest and dearest and will be reflecting on the year about the go and the exciting year ahead. Why not enter the new year in total style? You’re worth it after all.

A very Merry Christmas & Prosperous New Year to each and every one of you! Have the most gorgeous of celebrations…..

Wreath making with Lily Loves Flora

December 11, 2018

For those of you who have been following my blog and Instagram for a while you will know I’m pretty obsessed with anything flower based. Whether it be letterbox bouquets, country garden pickings, a posy in an old jam jar or foraging for botanicals for a handmade seasonal flower arrangement; flowers make me VERY happy {and I know i’m not alone}

This time of the year our thoughts shift to our very own garden offerings, inspired to forage for the last of the autumn greenery. Berries appearing and every shade of green in abundance down country lanes. A few years ago the idea of making my very own seasonal wreath was pretty daunting, surely I didn’t have the skills needed to make such a thing? But, the truth is, it doesn’t require any skills. Every floristry creation is a personal work of art.

Lily Loves Flora offers a homemade DIY experience with a twist.

You simply order the luxury kit and it provides you with mostly everything you need to make a traditional moss base door wreath. Providing the moss for the base, designed to be used with Blue Spruce and Eucalyptus; which can be foraged for, maybe even as a Sunday afternoon activity with all the family.

Complete with pheasant feathers, birch twigs, pine cones and cinnamon and a beautiful hessian ribbon you have everything you need to make your very own take on the perfect Christmas wreath.

Each kit contains:

one 12″ copper wire wreath frame, reel of wire, moss pins, stub wire, a bag of moss, a selection of accessories and trimmings to decorate your wreath, and ribbon.

Choose from one of two options for your accessories and trimmings:

Country Charm: Pine cones, cinnamon, pheasant feathers and natural hessian ribbon

or

Fruit & Spice: Whole oranges, dried lemons/grapefruit, chillies, cinnamon and red ribbon.

I throughly enjoyed every part of this experience, from admiring the beautiful packaging and guide materials, to following the excellently orchestrated step by step instruction guide on how to make your beautiful creation. What a superb idea, which I am definitely keen on trying again. There’s something VERY satisfying about homemade…don’t you agree?

Skin Perfecting Peel with Aesthetics Beauty Clinic

December 5, 2018

Just over two weeks ago I was invited along to the Aesthetics Beauty Clinic based at The Hoste Arms in Burnham Market, to discuss my general skin health and the improvements I could make with the use of non-evasive aesthetic treatments.

I met with the lovely Emma Grey, a Harley Street Aesthetic trained Nurse, specialising in Chemical Peels, Dermal Fillers, Wrinkle Relaxing Injections, Lip Fillers, Profhilo, Microneedling and general Skincare.

Emma is a professional in her field and has a wealth of knowledge. Putting me at ease immediately we discussed my general skin health, my current skincare regime and what I was really hoping to achieve from the treatments she could offer. We decided that Emma would first address my skin health, removing the dead skin cells and encouraging new cell growth. Emma promotes a tailor made ‘skin journey’ consultation; in order to establish the best products and treatment packages to get the best from your skin.

After careful consideration {and Emma’s detailed advice} I opted for the Perfecting Peel, unlike the more abrasive 6% Retinol Peel, the Perfecting Peel is like the beginners version. I felt most comfortable with this as I had never had this type of facial before. My aim was to smooth out fine lines, to  alleviate some scarring that I have from a previous bout of rosacea and to encourage my skin to glow; this time of the year, especially, my skin can be so dull.

I documented my journey daily {follow my journey via Instagram @asliceofsuffolk} and I must say I have been very happy with the results. The peeling was minimal and was gone in a few days, the redness was only apparent for the first day or two {fine to resume normal activities/work} and there was no discomfort at all, just mild tingling.

The results; My skin definitely feels smoother, clearer and my rosacea scarring has definitely softened. I really have finally got the winter ‘glow’ I was desperate for. This is certainly a treatment I am keen to have again!

Who do I think this suits most? Those that are keen to progress to a more in-depth facial treatment, possibly those who have had more standard facials in the past, without being invasive.

Please feel free to ask any questions or pop over to @aesthetic_beauty_clinic   Aesthetics Beauty Clinics and ask the professional!  I will update you on the next stage of my personal skin journey.

Here’s to happy {and healthy} skin!
